From request to invoice
You approve the terms.
Your customer pays the invoice.
Collect the specification
The shopper chooses options and submits a request. The quote keeps the configuration, pricing trace, published rule version, messages and attached files together.
Review and agree
Open the request, ask for clarification when needed, and set the commercial terms. A request is not automatically approved.
Approve and invoice
Approval creates or updates the Shopify draft order. Send its invoice so the customer can pay through Shopify; approval itself does not charge their card.
Hand off the agreed work
Use the customer quote document and printable production specification. With Growth or Pro, collect a deposit first and create a separate balance invoice after the deposit is paid.

When to use another approach
If every option is already a standard Shopify variant with a fixed price, native variants may be enough. Makewright does not add a 3D renderer, financing or an automatic manufacturing integration.

Request-pricing mode sends valid configurations to your quote desk and hides customer-facing prices. Use it when you want to agree a price before presenting an invoice.

Can a price formula send any total to Shopify checkout?
No. Checkout must use supported Shopify merchandise pricing. Formula-priced or review-required configurations route to a quote for review and invoicing.
Does approving a quote collect payment?
No. Approval creates or updates the draft order. Your customer pays through the Shopify invoice you send.
Can I take a deposit?
Growth and Pro support deposits from 5% to 90%. After the deposit is paid, you create the separate balance invoice. Read the deposit and balance workflow.
What stays attached to the request?
The configuration, pricing trace, published rule version, uploaded files and quote messages remain with the request. See customer and production documents.
