Shopify product options · Formula pricing
Makewright calculates dimension-based estimates with length, area, volume, quantity tiers and minimums. Supported merchandise pricing can go to Shopify checkout; formula-priced work goes to your team for a reviewed quote.
A reproducible workshop example
This is the Northline starter template with demo prices in USD. It is an illustration, not a customer price promise.
The demo’s $1,800 project minimum is below this total, so it adds nothing. Thickness is retained in the specification; this area rule uses length and width. Merchant review and any agreed terms come before invoicing.
Try custom dimensions in the demo ↗Use named pricing rules and saved tests to make the calculation inspectable.
Charge by a single dimension, multiply two axes for area, or three for volume. Set the unit divisor to convert entered dimensions into the units used by your rate.
Choose a per-unit rate from quantity thresholds. Test the boundary values so a change in quantity selects the rate you intended.
Raise a calculated total to your configured minimum when needed. A minimum is a floor, not an extra flat fee on every order.
Save inputs, an expected total and an expected checkout or quote path. Run them before publishing; failing tests block publication.

| Pricing situation | Next step | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Supported Shopify variant or merchandise-backed options | Checkout, when the configuration is valid and supported | The price is represented by Shopify merchandise. |
| Length, area, volume or formula-derived price | Reviewed quote | A calculated estimate cannot become an arbitrary cart price. |
| Custom stain or another review-required choice | Reviewed quote | Your team agrees the specification and terms. |
| Invalid input or failed pricing validation | Correct the configuration | Errors must be resolved before proceeding. |

No. Supported checkout uses Shopify merchandise pricing. Formula-priced work is reviewed and invoiced through a quote.
Yes. Configure three axes and the correct unit divisor. An area rule uses two axes; a single-dimension rule uses one.
Publication is blocked until the test passes or you correct the test’s expected result to match the intended rule. A test checks both the total and the route.
